OK. I'm old, but I'll give it a little bit of a whirl. Franz Ferdinand's first record is really good. The second one is OK. I really like Sleater / Kinney. Check out "Jumpers"! They're kind of loud, at times. But those chix rock! As I said in my last entry, the latest by Ryan Adams and the Cardinals is great - if not mellow at times. Their "Cold Roses" record is good too. Check that one out. Other than that...I've been doing a lot of hole plugging in my catalog, so I await the 20-something crowd as well.

Anything by the Eels is awesome! And then there's Ben Folds. But I'm not sure how you'd feel about that. It ain't easy going from Metallica to Ben Folds. Although you should! ('Rockin' The Suburbs' is by far his best)

I'm 25 and I love all of those CDs you mentioned. I am hopelessly stuck in the past as far as music goes as well. It just seems like everything that is coming out today is so... generic. Although I do heart Jack Johsnon and Jason Mraz and Kanye West though.

Franz Fucking Ferdinand! "Take Me Out" is a good one. Also, Morning Wood, "To The Enth Degree". And one by a band I do not recall the name of (I know, shocker for me right, not knowing the name of a new band), the song they sing is "A million ways to be cruel". MAybe next time I'll tell you about how I knew the 10,000 Maniacs when I lived out in NY and actually was kinda tight with the guitar player and then there wa sthe night I sat down and enjoyed a few beverages at the same table as Natalie Merchant.

Anna Nalick, The Wreck of the Day. "Breathe" is nowhere near the best song on that CD. Try "Forever Love (Digame)," "Paper Bag," "Catalyst," or my personal favorite, "In the Rough." Feeling more in the mood for testosterone? Try Breaking Benjamin, Saturate. We Are Not Alone has their more popular stuff but I think We Are Not Alone is underrated. Try "Home," "Next to Nothing," or "No Games." "Polyamory" is pretty good, too. I LOVE Ben Burnley's voice.

Oops, I meant to say that Saturate is underrated. DOH!

Although, Vicki, you can't go wrong with some authentic old ZZ Top. But make sure you download off of the BOX SET (Chrome, Smoke and BBQ). I just listened to "Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings" or "Enjoy and Get It On" - and I've got a groove on... Oh, f***, I'm rambling. OK, go download the New Pornographers, any of it...all of it...

I sometimes envy the guys who have the newer model cruisers, since mine's an older model 'Vic. That's about the only envying I do. But then again, the older model 'Vic's have more power (insert Tim Allen grunts) and I kind of like the body style a little better. Mine just needs more maintenance because it's a little older. And I've had maintenance done, and added even more power to my cruiser (re-insert Tim Allen grunts). I haven't actually timed it, but it'll get from 0 to 100 easily in under ten seconds. Not that I'm out buring up the four lanes. Yeah. But it would still be nice to have a newer model cruiser with the same power as my older model. Well, I also envy the other cops who have jobs with the state agencies, which is where I hope to be soon, abandoning the Sheriff's Department. Being with a state agency, of course, will give me a wider jurisdiction (re-reinsert Tim Allen grunts). Plus, I've finally gotten consistent again with my gym workouts, and have already begun to regain size and strength, bench press inching back up to close to 400lbs. Which gives me, guess what, more power (re-re-reinsert Tim Allen grunts). I hope to pass my all-time high of 450lbs by the first of the year. MORE POWER!!! (Tim Allen grunts out da ass). Now that I'm done fluffing my ego, on to the music: Okay, I don't really know what the music question was, because it's so hard for me to read your posts. But if we're recommending music, I, of course, recommend country. Try Neil McCoy's "Hillbilly Rap", which is a country singer rapping the theme to the Beverly Hillbillies. And it's actually quite good. Feel free to burn it for me and send it to me.

I'm in my 30s, but the more modern stuff I like is Jet, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Green Day, Scissor Sisters, Evanescence, Muse, Coldplay, James Blunt, Joss Stone, Jamie Cullum, The Flaming Lips, to name just a few. Sorry I can't pick individual songs!
